Dhruv Rathee has been ordered to appear before a Delhi court regarding a defamation lawsuit filed by a BJP spokesperson.

The Saket Court of Delhi has issued a summons to YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and others in response to a defamation suit filed by Suresh Karamshi Nakhua, a spokesperson of the BJP Mumbai unit. The suit alleges that Rathee referred to Nakhua as a violent and abusive troll in a video titled "My Reply to Godi Youtubers | Elvish Yadav | Dhruv Rathee," uploaded on Rathee's YouTube channel. The order was issued by District Judge Gunjan Gupta on July 19, 2024, summoning Rathee and social media intermediaries for August 6, 2024. Advocates Raghav Awasthi and Mukesh Sharma represented the plaintiff in this case.
